Use Cases

Tensei-Data allows the successful implementation of diverse data integration, transformation and migration processes in all kinds of areas. The complexity of the processes varies from smaller integration challenges on KMU and community level, the continuous integration of data into software systems up to database and data warehouse scenarios for corporations.


For a better understanding of the capabilities of the system, we present the following use cases that were implemented with Tensei-Data.


Continuous integration of distributed data into a data warehouse

The continuous integration of distributed data from diverse software systems into a data warehouse is established via cronjobs. The data are mapped onto the structure of the data warehouse and continuously integrated in the specified integration intervalls.

The neccessary transformations of the source data are performed via transformers during the integration process to fulfill the requirements regarding the data quality of the data warehouse.

Integrate different data sources in data warehouse

Continuous integration of customer data into an internal CRM

Information about the customer processes like reservations and bookings must be integrated into an internal CRM tool. The processes are mainly standardized but the quality of the data must be checked to meet the data type requirements of the target CRM software.

Tensei-Data allows the integration of the reservation information and booking data into the target CRM software with additional transformations of the data. It is used as continuous interface between these two independent software products and simplifies the process management.

Furthermore, the integration process of the data could be accelerated in contrast to a former solution.

Continuous integration of customer data into an internal CRM

Data migration between incompatible versions of a CRM software

The migration of data between incompatible versions of the same CRM solution requires additional transformation of data types and the normalization of some specific parts of the data.

Data that has been stored in character fields are transformed into the data types that are required by the target version. Additionally, new information can be extracted by splitting the data into individual parts that are newly available by the target system (Modification of the stored data structure).

Furthermore, the normalization of some specific attributes allows the creation of new references in the data structure.

Data transformation and continuous integration in BI solution

The preparation of data from different data sources for a BI solution is reached with the various transformers of the Tensei-Data system. Diverse data formats and types can be transformed to map the requirements of the BI solution and to prepare the data quality for the analysis process.

Furthermore, additional data are integrated into the BI solution that are sporadically available in a CSV format and mapped to the data structure of the BI system.

A continuous integration is established with cronjobs dependent on the specified integration intervalls.

Data migration between different CMS systems

The migration of the content between different Content Management Systems is reached by the use of specific transformers, virtual views and the necessity to keep the referential integrity.

Specific transformers are neccessary to convert time data between the systems that are represented in different data types. The time values are modified to match the requirements of the target system.

Virtual views are used to aggregate data from the source system and to simplify the migration process. It reduces the steps to collect all neccessary data that must be migrated into the target CMS.

Furthermore, the referential integrity of the data is correctly integrated depending on the new key constraints of the target system.
